The pilot, Jim “Jet” Neilson with 4 world records of speed on his name will try to break his own world record in David, Panama.

Jim Jet Neilson, on board of the super Jet Car, will release a turbine of almost 50.000 horsepower and 24.000 lbs of thrust to propel the Jet Car to record speeds of over 420 mph in less than 15 seconds. The car itself can develop a speed of approximately 700 mph.

Veteran drag racer Jim Neilson, who has campaigned a series of Funny Cars and jet-powered limos, has been racing jet cars since 1986. He has the record for the fastest car on pavement on the Las Vegas Freeway. His speed was recorded at 391 mph.

Jim “Jet” Neilson, who set the roadway world record of 404mph in a jet dragster in Arizona 2004, will attempt to break his record in Panama March 27th 2010.

Neilson now is going after the absolute Urban Land Speed Record. It’s his goal to break the world-wide record of speed on rubber wheels and pavement. Speeds could reach 500 mph at this event.
